Full Review: Oh...my word....how have I waited this long to read Ryan?! My cowboy loving heart has been seriously neglected. At Wolf Ranch was incredible! Yall know I don't read blurbs so I was thinking sexy winter cowboy romance and instead I got, well, sexy winter cowboy romance but mystery and suspense and a damn fine start to a new series too. Hot dayum but that's an amazing combo of cowboyliciousness. The quick of it is that Ella witnessed her twin sister's murder and now she's on the run and retracing Lela's last days to figure out what her sister had uncovered that put her in danger and that's now got Ella's life at risk. And that's led her to their family ranch in Montana and a gorgeous cowboy that comes to her rescue in the nick of time and decides to keep her. I freaking LOVED these two. Ella has gone through hell. Lost half of her soul and yet this woman doesn't back down. She pulls herself together and sets to avenging her sister and putting her killer behind bars. She's sweet but bold and so very smart even though people don't seem to notice. And Gabe. Sweet Mary. I want a Gabe. Why the devil can't men in real life be like Gabe?! He's solid and working hard towards his future and even when it all falls apart and he loses everything (due to the killer) he does't mope or lash out but sticks with Ella and keeping her safe. I adored him. He's just sexy as all get out and an incredible guy. The two--even though they come from different lifestyles--were amazing together. The chemistry is there from the start, their bond cemented by a life or death moment and weeks spent working together. They're hot and sweet and so comfortable a fit. There's not a ton of sex in this one but dayum! What was there...totally squirm-worthy. Adding in the mystery of piecing together Lela's last days and uncovering their killer's (they knew him but I don't wanna spoil it) betrayals and schemes was intriguing and heartbreaking at the same time. Greed and jealousy can cause such astronomical pain. It was awful watching Ella work through all of her losses but wonderful seeing how Gabe was there for her time and again and watching them come together. All in all, At Wolf Ranch was just a heartbreakingly beautiful story. It showed the worst in some and the best in others. How they can triumph and flourish despite horrible losses and pain. How the right people can bring out your strengths and provide comfort when you're weak. Everything about At Wolf Ranch was beautifully done from the romance and the setting to the suspense and the battle of good over evil. Ryan quickly swept me away and I can't wait to get my hands on the next one. If you haven't tried Ryan yet, run, don't walk, and pick up a copy posthaste! Your cowboy loving heart with thank you ;)

Hold on to your hats ladies, as Gabe will make your knees turn to jelly. Second date: Gabe and Ella are both intelligent, independent and some might say overachievers. I love strong characters, and appreciated how Ella keot it together. Despite the time frame we feel the chemistry between them as it crackles. Both are reluctant to act, giving us a friends to lovers’ slow building romance. These two come from different worlds but share a connection. We share some delicious banter thanks to a snowstorm and their investigation. Gabe is protective and sees Ella, beyond her social media image. Ella is perhaps a little pampered but never complains and is grounded. They complement each other in a way that felt genuine. The murder mystery/betrayal thread is engaging and had me on edge as they tried to uncover clues. We meet some of Gabe's sibling and learn about other characters all of which had me intrigued. Third date: I am experiencing all the feels. Ryan has fleshed out the characters and has shared their back-stories giving me a strong sense of their character. While I am sure, we will get our HEA, the twists, bumps and growing pains kept me up singing the “just one more chapter” mantra. The murder/mystery wrapped up well and I appreciated how Ryan gave equal time to this thread. I ended this date tired but grinning from ear to ear and eager to return for more Montana Men. This had two major issues for me. The first is that it was boring. Just something about the dialogue and pace of the story. Yea - approaching major bitch there. She kept the Hero on his heels the entire story. It was so not fair to him. He was about as good a guy as you can find. And she gave him zero confidence. I am disappointed I did not go with my gut and DNF. It just was not worth it. Even the epilogue was unfulfilling. Totally safe read. No OW/OM issues.

Gage was unwilling pulled in to the deviant plot against Ella and her sister. When he finds her on the side of the road, his white knight shines through. Ella was known as the party girl, but anyone who knew her knew the driven person underneath the façade. The person Gage is quickly getting to know. Gage is trying to build a life for himself and purchasing Wolf Ranch was the next step. Little did he know that the heiress of Wolf Ranch was going to land his lap or the truth she brings in her wake. Now, not only Ella’s life but now Gage’s livelihood are at stake. I have to admit I found the beginning of this story extremely unsettling and felt Ella’s choices where half baked, at best, but as the story progresses it worked. I really loved Gage, he steals the show so to speak. Were Ella is impulsive, Gage carefully takes each chip as it falls. At Wolf Ranch was a great cowboy packed adventure. Gabe has his heart set on owning Wolf Ranch. He has huge plans for the place. He’s ready to settle down to find a wife and start a family. When he rescues Ella Wolf, he quickly becomes entangled with the reason why she came back to Wolf Ranch. As they try to seek the truth together, his heart tells him one thing, but his mind soon realizes that what he wants may not even be possible. At Wolf Ranch is more than rich city girl meets cowboy. The suspense part is quite intriguing and very much kept me turning the pages. There were twists at the end that I didn’t see coming. I loved both Ella and Gabe. Ella surprised me with her strength and determination, and it tore my heart out with all she was going through. I liked that there was focus on the special bond she had with her twin, Lela. The tension between Ella and Gabe was so flippin’ delicious! Gabe is the oldest of the Bowden brothers, and we get to see a little of all of them. Blake Bowden’s story is next, and I can’t wait! Thanks, Jennifer Ryan, for this wonderful introduction to your sexy Montana Men series! At Wolf Ranch was a fantastic read for me!

Shortly after arriving in Montana she meets the handsome cowboy Gabe in such an awesome way. I love a good Damsel in Distress so I was so happy when he rescues Ella and their beautiful story begins. I really enjoyed this book. The characters were well developed and relatable. Although the chemistry was there, I didn't find it entirely believable but I was able to see past that as I read on. The story moved at a steady pace that kept me interested and engaged. There were a few times, however, that I felt that it dragged. Don't get me wrong- it was an action-packed hell of a ride but at times I was tempted to skim ahead. All in all, I recommend this book for those looking to read a sexy, fast-paced contemporary western romance!

Sondern schon mein zweites. Was wirklich absolut schade ist.

Even with her grief over all she has lost, she gathers up her strength and digs into her uncle's past and present business dealings. Ella is an amazingly resilient character. She was so different than you would expect from someone with her money and connections. She proves she is not what she seems on the surface. I really liked her strength and determination. Gabe rescues Ella from the side of the highway in a snowstorm and realizes that he doesn't ever want to stop protecting her. When he finds out what Ella's uncle has done to her, and also how he has destroyed Gabe's dream of owning his own large ranching operation, Gabe vows to stop at nothing to help Ella get her justice. Gabe and Ella had out of this world chemistry from the get go, and it just built and smoldered throughout the story. I love that! They were great together in so many ways and really complemented each other well. I absolutely loved Gabe and Ella and Gabe's brothers. The author does a wonderful job with the settings in this story. I could truly picture myself on a ranch in Montana. The suspense and romance in this story are top notch and kept me entertained throughout. Gabe Bowden is my book boyfriend for sure...at least until I read the next story involving the Bowden brothers...then he might have some competition. ;) As an Avon Addict, I received an advance copy of this book for review consideration. This did not influence my opinion.

First 100 pages were captivating. I didn’t want to stop reading. But the middle and the end were average. The middle felt too drawn out. Ella Wolf, has just seen her twin sister, murdered by her uncle. So Ella flees the city, and goes back to where she once called home “Wolf Ranch”. She knows that she needs to hide out until she can get proof against her uncle, but she is next on his list to be killed. But she finds herself abandoned on the road, in the snow storm, and ends up being rescued by a ruggedly handsome rancher, who has his own plans for Wolf Ranch. Ella and Gabe join forces, to get evidence against her uncle. But she is racing against time, because she knows it won’t take him long to figure where she ran off to. As their enemy gets closer, so does Gabe and Ella, and they connect in ways that they don’t expect, but they need to learn to trust each other in order to survive… The Hero Gabe Bowden, is one of three boys, and grew up in a loving home. He has spent many years working with the rodeo circuit, and as his fame rose, so did women’s interest in him. Gabe once fell in love and was engaged, but was left at the altar, and now he only trust women so far in the bedroom. But he is looking for that special woman; that can break through the ice around his heart. When he stumbles and finds Ella Wolf, her beauty and courage stuns him, and he can see a future together, but he wonders if he and his ranch will be enough for her. Gabe was such a great hero, strong, hardworking, a sexy appeal, and is very ruggedly charming. He has very simple tastes, but is the type of man a woman can see herself with, a strong husband and loving father. His character instantly drew me to the story, and he isn’t afraid of saying how he feels or thinks. The Heroine Ella Wolf, is a strong heroine. She is more than she appears to be in the public eye. She has a strong bond to her sister, so when she sees her murdered right in front of her, by a man they trusted, she has no choice but to run because her uncle is after her too. Ella is heartbroken over the loss of her other half, her twin. They have never been separated. Ella is passionate and a fighter. She is smart and is very likable. I loved seeing her determination to bring down her uncle and find the answers and proof she needs. Ella really shocked me in how much I liked her. She is independent and strong willed, but she has a gentle nature to her that I found endearing. I found it easy to relate with her, and my heart just broke for her, but I found myself becoming more attached with her as the story went on. She definitely had backbone you can appreciate. Plot and Story Line This is one hell of a ride of a story. Oh my…I think I am going to adore this series. This is only the first book, so crossing fingers, that I will be able to read it in order. This was an emotional roller coaster and boy did it really require a box of tissues. I love those stories that surprise you like that, but in a good way. I had such a good time with this book, and I just couldn’t get enough of it. It was stunning, riveting and had the simple romantic feeling to it that pulls the reader in. The story picks up pretty quickly from the beginning, and had me on edge for quite a while. Then we enter the hiding out, but doing investigative work phase. This is where Ella and Gabe really start to slowly connect. It starts out slowly and then gradually picks up pace. They were so sweet together. There isn’t a ton of heat or sexual scenes in this one. There is a sensual tone to it, but its more gentle and slow moving, but steady. You can see that the focus of the story is the plot and the building up of the love story, and the bedroom scenes are icing on the cake. I enjoyed the balance that this author employs into the story. The characters were so captivating and added a unique quality to the story that increased my enjoyment of it. I also adored the suspense tone of the story. I do love a good mystery, and bringing down a bad guy. And boy, this Uncle of Ella…he is super bad and should be shot. Boy did I love the ending and seeing the story get wrapped up in a nice package. Cover This cover is sexy to me…even though the guy posing as Gabe…is fully clothed. But with his stance, and those broad shoulders, strong jawline…and dang those jeans…I swear cowboys get me every time. They are sexy and romantic and hell of time. And I love the way that there is snow in the background, it sets a wintry theme to the story, and so pretty with the lovely background. Overall View A stimulating and thrilling story of fighting for those you love, a romance that is slow and easy, a love to fight for no matter the danger. Captivating on every page…this is a author to watch out for. One Hell of a Keeper!!

When she's abandoned to die on the side of a snowy, deserted road, it looks as though the secret will remain hidden forever. Until Gabe Bowden spies her through the weather and saves her life. With Gabe set to take over Wolf Ranch, Ella's arrival, and the mystery that brought her to Big Sky Country have the potential to change everything...especially since he's drawn to her in a way that he's never before experienced. Can he help her find the truth before it's too late? Or will he lose her before he's really found her? I didn't know what I was getting myself into when I opened this book. I actually didn't read the blurb properly -- I saw it was Montana and cowboys, and I was hooked -- until after I read the shocking first chapter, and then got a clearer idea of what I was in for. And what I was in for was an= exciting, interesting and well-constructed mystery, and a good start to a new series for a new-to-me author. I really enjoyed At Wolf Ranch, and I LOVED Gabe. Aside from being a strong and sexy Alpha cowboy, he was sweet and kind; a gentleman and completely swoon-worthy. I thought he and Ella were perfect together. She was smart and strong, and together they made a strong team. And while some elements of the mystery were a touch on the predictable/convenient side, I still found myself thoroughly invested in this lip-bitin' story. There's more to come from the Montana Men series, and I can't be happier about that. I'm excited to see what Jennifer Ryan does with this series, to learn more about the Bowden boys and to see Blake -- whose book comes next and who was my favorite secondary character -- find his girl. ~ Beth, 4 stars ~~~ Talk about intrigue and edge-of-your-seat excitement! This book hooks from the first page, and keeps on going. I wasn’t sure where the story was going at first, but could tell it would be a great ride. And At Wolf Ranch did not disappoint! It was part murder mystery, part hot cowboy book, and part chic, independent heiress story. There is something for everyone in At Wolf Ranch, in addition to being an exciting thrill ride the entire book. I loved the mixture of genres, it worked seamlessly and added so much dimension to a couple of tired old standbys! Gabe and Ella are perfect, the epitome of opposites attract. Their chemistry sizzles off the page, and just enhances the sweet, swoony moments. Gabe is a smoking hot cowboy with excellent manners, a protective alpha side, and a sad story that makes you fall for him even more. Ella is a young New York heiress who is strong, determined and a bit damaged. She has an amazing ability to adapt and survive in perilous situations, and completely earned my respect. My one issue with At Wolf Ranch is that there was a tendency to accept certain things as fact without explanation. A couple of plot points were glossed over and not fully developed. In this same vein, Gabe makes a big decision towards the end of the book that just is without any discussion, and then later explained off. This irked me because it didn’t sit with his personality up until that point, he needed a reason to go so off base. Otherwise, I fully enjoyed At Wolf Ranch. It was steamy, sexy, swoony, mysterious, intriguing and so much more of those wonderful things. ~ Alicia, 3.5 stars

I think this is one of the best Jennifer Ryan books I've read so far. There was just the right mix of suspense and romance. It was also nice that the characters didn't just fall into bed together. The author gave them time to get to know one another as she built her story around them. It was more about plot than sex, although there were some nicely written love scenes. When the book opens, Ella is responding to an eerie call from her twin sister, Lela. It appears Lela is arguing with their uncle I think this is one of the best Jennifer Ryan books I've read so far. There was just the right mix of suspense and romance. It was more about plot than sex, although there were some nicely written love scenes. When the book opens, Ella is responding to an eerie call from her twin sister, Lela. It appears Lela is arguing with their uncle and he is threatening her. She races to their apartment in time to see her uncle murder her twin. A police detective is there as well, obviously in business with her uncle. She overhears them planning to kill her as well and make it look like a murder-suicide. She manages to flee before her presence is discovered and uses a fake identity to fly to her family's ranch in Montana. It was the last place Lela visited before confronting their uncle so Ella knows whatever she had against him had to come from there. Gabe is a rancher who believes he's purchased Wolf Ranch, the final sale to go through the following week. When he meets Ella Wolf he discovers her uncle sold him the ranch illegally and took all his money. Ella explains about her sister's murder and vows to get to the bottom of things. She and Gabe work together to bring her uncle down and get his money back. I absolutely fell in love with this couple. While Ella had often been made out to be a spoiled, little, rich girl, she was anything but, a fact Gabe quickly discovers himself. She is totally likeable, intelligent, hard-working, and loves the ranch almost as much as he does. Gabe is so caring and protective towards her. He's always doing things for her and becomes an active part of her quest to solve her sister's murder. He is someone she can lean on as she grieves the loss of her sibling, his quiet strength giving her just what she needs during this difficult time. As their relationship slowly develops, Gabe and Ella both wonder what the future holds for the two of them but Ella seems more determined to work things out while Gabe is figuring there will come a time when he has to let her go. An extra bonus point was getting to know Gabe' s brothers, which will easily lead into the next book in the series, something I can't wait to read now. If you haven't read this book though, you don't want to miss it! It's one I would highly recommend.

Posted on What I'm Reading Nothing like starting a story where within the first chapter contains a murder, because the bad guy was caught for other crimes like murder, fraud, and embezzlement. Yep, that will definitely be something catch your attention, at least mine. To top this all off, Ella is the one to watch this all take place. Now she has to figure out what the heck her uncle did that would force him to kill his niece, and survive from suffering the same fate as her sister. Good times, good times. I must say that At Wolf Ranch is a pretty exciting read. Nothing seems to go right for Ella ever since her sister died, but she's not going to give up. Thank goodness she has the help of a sexy cowboy with a heart of gold who wants to keep her safe. I think I'm on a book high, because this was pretty amazing from page one to the last. First off, we have Ella who has in the past portrayed herself as the party girl with no real ambition. While her twin sister Lela was portrayed as the serious one who did everything by the book. As we get to know Ella, we learn that there is more than meets the eye (yes, I did use a Transformer phrase). When Gabe meets Ella he can't figure out conundrum that she presents, herself. However, as he gets to know her, he starts to realize that she isn't a party girl like the tabloids say. I love how Gabe's protective instincts go up and he wants to protect Ella from her psychopath of an uncle. He's pretty messed guy. Words cannot describe the evilness that lies in that man. Anyway, Gabe has his work cutout for him. I adore Gabe, because he tries hard to focus on the task while he has the hots for Ella. At the same time he's a little gun shy, because the last girl he was serious about kind of abandon him due to the fact he was living in a small town. So, he figures Ella would be the same way, because she's a socialite from New York what could Montana hold for a girl like her. Silly man. Anyway, I found At Wolf Ranch a gripping tale of a girl trying solve a puzzle that her family was trying to solve. Basically, if you are looking for a story with murder, fraud, and embezzlement with a dash of sexy cowboy, you have found your story. At Wolf Ranch is a pretty awesome story. She races back to the house just in time to see her sister murdered. Herr uncle, and a detective calmly talk about how they will cover up the murder. They are going to over dose Ella, and pin the murder on her. She leaves the house before anyone sees her. She flea's to Montana to find out what her sister had uncovered. Once in Montana she has to find a way to her ranch. she can't rent a car, because she can't let her uncle know where she is, by using her credit cards. She stopped for coffee. The nice shop owner asked Travis to give her a ride. On the ride, Travis wants a little something for his time, and gets handsy. She ends up kicking him in the balls when he won't take no for a answer. He kicks her out of the truck, leaving her die in the snow. Gabe was having a hard time seeing the road through the snow that was falling. He saw a flash of blue. He pulled over to investigate. He found Ella collapsed in the snow. He hurried to save her life before hypothermal set in. Once she was released from the doctor's he brought her back to his house. He was bound and determined to help her find out what her uncle was hiding. He was also set on protecting her. Hey, who doesn't want a sexy cowboy there to protect you, when people wanted you dead? The two had to work fast to connect the pieces before her Uncle's people came after her. This was a heart wrenching story at times, with Ella grieving the loss of her sister. Ella didn't know where to turn. She didn't know how many people was on her uncle's pay roll. She already knew one detective was there the night her sister was murdered. This book had so many twist and turns. The suspense of the story was really good. I loved the chemistry simmering hot between Gabe, and Ella. This book is going on my list of favorites.

Having read and loved Jennifer Ryan's "Dylan's Redemption" I was looking forward to reading more from her, even though these two books belong to a different series. I will start with the parts I liked. The first part of the book is intriguing and the first pages hooked me. The building tension in the first chapter grips the reader's attention and won't let go. When Gabe enters the story, I immediately liked him and his brother, and I was looking forward to read how his and Ella's paths would cross. I'm not always a fan of insta-love, but I liked the chemistry that sparked between them almost at first sight. I liked how Ella, in spite of her condition, still tried to make it on her own without Gabe's help, and how he didn't let the stubborn woman out of his sight. I like a protective hero who takes care of women and treats them right; the fact that he's a cowboy is definitely a bonus. What I didn't particularly like about him was his constant mantra "she's out of my league, we can't be together but I love her." At first it made sense that he would think it, but after a while it became too much too often. He sounded a little too whiny for the rough and tough cowboy I'd thought he was, and it became a little repetitive. Another thing that didn't work too well for me was that it was a little too easy for Ella to solve the crime and get back to her uncle for what he'd done. Lastly, I felt that, even though this will sound a little prudish, there were too many and too descriptive sex scenes that after a while became a little annoying. At some point I felt the story dragged a little and these scenes only made it slower for me, instead of more enticing. Anyway, despite my personal opinion on some things, I enjoyed this book, and if you like stories with hot cowboys, a bit of suspense and steam, you should definitely pick up a copy. read full review here: http://robertasdreamworld.blogspot.it... ***I received a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review***

Admittedly, it was a slow start for me with the phone call and the info dumpage of character details. However once Ella and Gabe were in the same vicinity, the book really took off. Their interactions together were sincere, sweet, and addicting. Elyse: I loved Gabe. He’s strong but genuinely sweet. I love alpha heroes who can be strong, but are secure and don’t need to be assholes to everyone. Gabe is kind of a quiet hero, and I liked that. Ella is a smart, strong woman and he respects that. Also I want him to cook for me. Amanda: Despite the tragedy at the heart of the plot, the fact that both characters were functioning adults with their own aspirations and careers made their romance more attractive. They have their separate passions that overlap on occasion, showing just how well opposites can get along and compromise with each other. That being said, I did not like how Gabe played the martyr and decided for Ella that she couldn’t handle both their relationship and her busy career. Or rather, she shouldn’t because her focus needed to be on the company and handling her sister’s death. Calm your tits, Gabe. Girl knows what she’s doing. Elyse: I think it’s an interesting dynamic. I read books all the time about male billionaires who apparently have A LOT of free time despite their businesses. This book was pretty clear that Ella has a lot of shit to do. Also Gabe is clearly intimidated by Ella’s wealth and feels like he can’t offer her much. You don’t see that as often when the dude is rich and the woman isn’t.
